XMAS PARTY AND ALL THINGS FESTIVE

What an enjoyable occasion at the Elstead Hotel on the 16/12 to celebrate Xmas and all things Poole Chess Club. Our guest for the evening was Mike Jay and we had a local singer Sophie Breakell serenade us over drinks and Xmas Pud.

23 members attended which was an excellent turn out and from reports really enjoyed the socials and getting together.

The welcome greeting was made by yours truly which I tried to keep brief as we all wanted to get down to the serious business of eating, drinking and socializing.

At the end of the evening to follow custom and tradition the serious and not so serious keen members disappeared into the bar to play chess and keep the night porter honest!
