Two Towns Match Poole vs Bournemouth 12/9/18

The date for the season curtain raiser has been agreed and will be played at our home venue in the Reception (Grd Floor) at the Legion starting at 7.15 pm.

Last season the match was tied at 14/14 and so the trophy remains with Martin Simons and the Bournemouth team. It would be really great to increase our efforts to try and win this event by having as many Poole players participating on home ground.

A reminder the games are not graded and are used as a warm up after the long hot summer and  preparing for the league games over the winter months.

I hope as many Poole players will  try and play in this match which is always an enjoyable evening and as a sideshow we will bringing the remaining 200 chess books for sale during the evening which will go towards club funds. The books are being sold for £3/2 respectively and we have made a good start by collecting £40 at the AGM so thank you all.

I will be taking entries by tel/e mail/ at the club personally between now and the 12/9 which is a Wednesday – please note.
