Summer League match – Ringwood 1.5 Poole 5.5 & next match details vs Highcliffe

In our 1st match we had an enjoyable evening despite the weather turning during the games and we finished off inside the Fish Inn, Ringwood.

We planned to have 8 boards but eventually started with 7 and Martin Clancy sportingly also defaulted to make the match even.

All our players did well with John getting a deserved draw on Bd 1 vs Graham Willets. Wins for recorded for Zander/Mike Minvalla/Kyzrzstoff/Tony Sanderson and an our debutant Dragos. Alexie also playing his 1st competitive game had a good game against Mike Jay but went down in the endgame.

Excellent effort by all and thanks to Ringwood for making it a social occasion as well as some good competitive chess.

It was good to see new and fringe players taking part in the event from both teams without any serious league pressure and a chance to develop their chess prowess.

2ND MATCH VS HIGHCLIFFE 11/7/22 AT THE CANFORD PUB/HOTEL, 53 CLIFF DRIVE,BH13 7JF.

The pub has a nice secluded garden with ample room and a comfortable area inside if we need to use.

Highcliffe want to play at least 10 boards so I am hoping we can match that and have a good evening. All players are welcome to play, its very easy, just let me know and you are selected.
