Resumption of Thursday Club Nights at Poole CC

I am pleased to report we can return to our usual RBL (Royal British Legion) room this Thursday 29 July at our normal time of 7.15pm onwards.

The room has been cleaned and the club have confirmed they are open every night of the week, so all systems go for hopefully a full return to something like normal chess nights at our little theatre of dreams and all things Poole Chess Club.

This will replace the interim Friday nights that have been used over the last couple of months and I would like to thank everyone that has made an effort to come down on what is quite a difficult night for some members just to meet up and play some chess.

Once we get going  over the next couple of weeks we will arrange an AGM to discuss all the club fees and everything going forward.

I hope we can get a reasonable return to OTB chess but also respect any members that are still cautious returning, as the Covid infection rates are still high. The club has sanitiser sprays and wipes. If you are more comfortable wearing masks and gloves to move the pieces please bring your own.

Some members may be away on holiday and August is usually a quiet time of the year at the club, but we have a lot of catching up to do and it will be a pleasure to see as many members at the club on a regular Thursday night.
