Quiet week in the league before an avalanche of games next week
I wondered if this was a domestic or international break when I looked at our fixtures and saw, none. Next week there are 7, scheduled,we have postponed 2 just to make 5 fixtures for w/c 14/10. All in hand due to our well organised captains with teams lined up for the various battles.
Last week we managed to win 2 and lose 2 over the two matches but well done our Poole B in Div 3 of the Dorset league captained by Graham and as reported last week all went well on the night.
So tonight there is just one match in the Summer cup ( now renamed Autumn) between John and Dragi with the winner reaching the semi- finals to play either Graham/Mike Minvalla and Chip. The draw for the semi-finals will be made immediately after the match – no Ads or Sky TV.
As this Thursday 10/10 is a free night it is hoped the semi-finals can be played so that by the end of the night we will have our 2019 Summer Cup finalists.
Our Tuesday social night is being well supported and I hope you can and will come along when there are no league matches to play and enjoy a little chess and maybe some tactics and analysis if you are of a mind.
Happy chessing!
