Poole Rooks 3 – Poole Bishops 1

This newly formed team to supplement the number of Bacchus league Division started with a strong win against the kids representing the Bishops team.

Sound chess by Mike Minvalla, Graham Morris and Steve Bailey was enough for a 3 nil lead and I am sure Josh, Jack and Dylan will learn from these games with some assistance.

A welcome return for Andre now a 6th former at Poole Grammar after a number of years and he played good solid chess to reach an equitable end game with Joe who is still learning and improving in his 1st year with the club. This game should have been a draw but a costly mistake allowed Andre to Queen a pawn and that was enough to take the win.

Well played all and thank you for competing in this inter club match.
