Poole league matches and diary updates

Last week’s results were quite mixed but the highlight was our B team’s win at Highcliffe on Monday was against all odds which was crucial in our bid to avoid relegation.

The Junior Bishops had a poor night at the office losing 0-4 also at Monday night at Highcliffe  but the games were closer than the score suggests. Jack especially was unlucky to lose in a really good game.

Last Thursday our Dorset league team were at Dorchester in the first division and struggled to find a 4th player after Martin Machatek withdrew due to illness and so yours truly filled in a last minute replacement.

The games were all very hard fought but with John and yours truly going down on there were was too much to do for Chip and Mike who both gained creditable draws against strong opposition. – 1-3 Dorchester.

This week we have 2 matches at home on Thursday 21st .

Our Dorset league team take to the boards again in a re arranged match against Weymouth and on the same night our D team led by Mike Rutter are playing Highcliffe B.

We wish both teams well in what will be highly competitive and tough matches.

Whilst writing, can I remind club players we can use the 1st floor room at the Legion if they wish to play club and friendly matches when league games are taking place.

For those players that have not played their club championship matches this is another opportunity for you to come to the club and play your match so we can start the 2nd round.

Our weekly attendances at the club have not been great recently and we wish to give our members a variety of opponent so I am sure you wish to continue supporting our club so please make an effort to come to the club when you can.
