Poole F 1 – 3 Wimborne F
In the Final game of the season for our F team they went down 3-1 to a solid performance from Wimborne F team.
This was not quite the match on the beach but it had an end of season feel to it.
Ciaran playing D.Bland (123) was under pressure on the K side fought very hard to fight to sustain equality but succumbed to a mistake by moving a defending piece to the Q side and a simple combination opened up the position and it no time at all it was 0-1.
Ciaran (13 years old) has had an excellent and very promising t first season in both Division 3 and 4 and has shouldered responsibility of playing on board 1 which we all know is hard. Well done.
Adam Jaggard on Board 2 had a strong game against a very competant Gregg Webb who’s grade of 89 belies his strength and both agreed a draw which was fair given the position.
Mean while on Board 3 ,David Lockwood lost on time in a scamble which was a shame as the position was favourable and the downward trend continued when Derek Chapman succumbed to young Will Moore (16 years old).
So well done Wimborne and thanks to all our F team players whom have so ably represented the team in their initial season. Special mention must be made to our man from Oklahoma Seth Rider who has shot them all down with both the white and black pieces and will surely win a the Division 4 trophy for best performance.
