Poole Chess News Update – September 2017

This is a general pre-season update for all prior to switching to our new Poole Chess website.

Two Towns Match held at our club on the 13/9. Bournemouth vs Poole. where 56 players took part in the pre season curtain raiser. The match was keenly contested as always with Bournemouth having a slightly stronger team on the overall boards

The club is ready for the start of the new 17/18 season and have 6 teams in B & D Chess league and 2 teams in the Dorset League for the 1st time.

Our membership has been maintained at 35 and all players have been allocated to our teams.
We have lost Hiru and Sandu and Igor. We have recruited John Weatherlake/ Mike Duggan and Tony Pritchard and welcome these players to our club and wish them well in the league.

We are always encourage any new players at all standards to come and play, you are welcome.

The first matches start on the 21/9 at the club where 3 of our 6 league teams will be starting the season, all visitors are welcome.

The competition in the league from other and strong clubs will be fierce but with our success from last season I am hopeful we can maintain our league positions and move forwards.
