Poole celebrate their 7th Year Chess Club Anniversary at Flirt Cafe

On the 31/1/18 Poole Chess Club celebrated their 7th Year of playing chess at Flirt Cafe in Central Bournemouth.

The initial idea of playing chess in a cafe environment for all chess players and interested parties has been enjoyable, successful and it has proven to be a hit with chess players from Southbourne, Wimborne and  all other local clubs.

I am delighted to say we have met prospective new players, gained new members, encouraged all to enjoy chess and will continue to do so.

We must congratulate our hosts Flirt Cafe in participating with us and we all enjoy in meeting and spending time in the cafe. I would encourage you to come to there at any time especially on a Wednesday from 2.30  to 5.30 and watch and play some chess.

To celebrate this event we held a 10 minute all play all competition over 5 rounds which was won by Ivan Willis who scored 4/5. Other participants were John Harris and Bermuda Dave from Southbourne, John Oldfield from Bournemouth and our own Poole players Christine, Chris, Kyristoff, Steve and yours truly.

There is always a welcome for you at Flirt cafe so we hope to see you there.
