Poole C 3 -1 Southbourne C

Our C team continue their winning run by beating Southbourne C in an enjoyable and competitive match.

We had a strong advantage with higher grades on all 4 boards and it showed especially by the top two players Dragi and Richie.

Dragi playing David Arorash swapped off major pieces early on to get into a tactical and beneficial middle game and went on to win comfortably. On Board 2 Richie obtained a strong K side attack and went on to mate his opponent John Harris, so 2-0.

On Board 3 Adam playing the ever enterprising Paul Sandy had a very even position and as there was no advantage with correct play both players agreed the draw.

Despite the match being won Simon was committed to win his own game against Chris Lane whom played very well, and managed all until Simon broke through, won a piece and a nice win to conclude the match and evening.

Poole C go marching on and become joint leaders with New Milton with just 4 games to go.
