New Members Tournament – Results
Congratulations to all participants of the new members tournament, it was the first time most of them had played a tournament, that many of them had used a clock, and that some of them had played properly over the board. I was really impressed with the level of chess, and how everyone adapted to the time controls with a lot of interesting tactical battles.
There were 20 people competing and the final winner was Joshua O who beat Craig M in a playoff to end the evening unbeaten. There were 2 under 10s and 2 teenagers playing, with Advik getting a phenomenal 3 out of 4.
Well done to all those who took part and I hope to see everyone again at the club, or at the next event! A huge thank you to Steve, John, Damon, Bailey and Martin who came down to help out.
