Dorset Rapidplay 2019

Poole Chess Club was represented at the Dorset Rapidplay tournament held in Ringwood Sunday 24th March by 4 members, Mike Duggan, John Weatherlake, Chris Roberts and our rising JUNIOR STAR Jamie Doyle, who took home more money than most in the tournament!

Well done to Mike on being equal first, Jamie for best Junior and all four for winning the team event. Bravo!

Everyone took home a prize from this 24th Dorset Rapidplay, superbly run by Controller Martin Simons with Assistant Controller Graham Morris. There were many prizes, including 13 for winning grading sections and a team prize. £672.24 was paid out in cash prizes. It was the strongest ever Rapidplay, and that was reflected in 6 players sharing first place pictured (and from the left, Peter Bjorntoft [Denmark], Antonio Martinez-Sykora [Southampton], Mike Duggan [Poole], Mike Waddington [Dorchester], Keith Gregory [Fareham] & Allan Pleasants [Weymouth].
