Club News and D Match at Wimborne on 20/2

I  have collected the David Lockwood chess legacy of about 30 books which are now stored in our cupboard. All of these books are a donation to the  club so when you visit the club next time please feel free to go through the books and choose one personally of your choice.

Any donations you would like to make will go towards club funds. I will leave a tin in the cupboard for any donations which are purely voluntary.

I know several of our members have now applied and received British Legion membership, thank you to those members. For those that have not done so can I remind you to please do so and the BL white forms are in the cupboard to complete and send off. You can also apply online directly to BL membership or over the phone.

Finally there is only one match for one of our teams. Are high achieving D team in the 3rd Division captained for the first time by Mike Rutter. They are away at Wimborne on Wednesday evening playing their D team, good luck to Mike and the team.

Chip has posted the club championship draw on the web site and we hope you have arranged your matches by now. There are no league games this Thursday 21/2 so it is a good time to come to the club and play your match. If you need your opponents’ contact details please contact Chip or myself.

I have requested members come down when they can in between league games as others are there looking for games sometimes against opponents they have not played previously. So please come down and support the club when you can. Chip and myself are always there so you have a wide variety of opponent in that comparison alone!
