Club Championship – Final results

At the club last night two club championship finals were played to conclusion.

In the Major Final Chip triumphed by overcoming Mike Duggan last year’s winner in a tense and hard fought game. Chip let people know Mike had previously been his nemesis but on this night the tables were turned and Mike graciously said Chip deserved the win and was a worthy overall winner of the competition. I believe this is Chip’s 3rd club championship title. Hard luck Mike who this season alone has won the Dorset & Southampton rapid play competitions.

The winner in the Minor section was Tony Pritchard beating Christine in both their first finals to win a club title for the 1st time. Well done Tony and hard luck Christine who had beaten some tough opponents on her way to the final.

So this year’s Club Championship winners are:

Major section – Chip

Intermediate – Richie

Minor – Tony

Many congratulations to the winners and all members that took part in this years’s competition.

Trophies or Shields will be presented at the AGM on the 4/7/19.
