My first competitive game for the club, I was all set to play the friendly Phil Holden (he offered me a sweet) score sheet filled in ready to play, shook hands, then at the last minute, their board 1 defaulted, well, he turned up but saw Seth Rider on our board 1 and thought he’d get an easier game if he played for the Dorchester team against Poole B, Brackner or Dinmore not sure who, anyway it meant the Wimborne guys all moved up a board leaving me with ….good God he’s gone…….nobody. 1-0
