YOUR CHESS CLUB NEEDS YOU – 4NCL WEEKEND

(Milton Keynes – Sat 26^th March & Sun 27^th March).

Hi Everyone,

Its that time where I realise that it’s only a few weeks to go until the next round of the 4NCL and desperately put the feelers out for potential new squad members.

I’m sure all involved thus far will agree its good fun and nowhere near as taxing as a standard weekend congress. So, if you have any interest at all, please let me know and I shall add you to the squad.

My (very rough calculations) suggest that something like a top eight finish should keep us in division three which will be a 12 team all play all next year.

This is something I’m very keen to try and achieve particularly as promotion out of division four group could well prove a tough ask. Division four is likely to be large next year. It is also bound to have quite a few strong new teams all fighting it out for a limited number of promotion spots.

We are currently sitting firmly in a mid-table position however a good weekend would easily shoot us up the standings. So I still intend to try and field the strongest 6 we can, but with Dave off globetrotting we are already a ‘Patzer’ down.

So please, please, please, give me a shout and let me know any availability. (Or lack of).

I will be at club on Thursday. But please also feel free to shout down the grapevine with Eric, Chip, Dave or any of the team captains if you have any interest.

Logistics are all very much taken care of, and costs not to excessive and all sorted at the end with yours truly.
