Upcoming matches this week and club news

And so the matches roll on and last night we were so unfortunate in that we had three team players unavailable and then had to default a board at a few hours  notice when our E team played at Highcliffe in Division 4 last night.

Our team did so well by achieving a  draw over the three boards and many thanks to Rachel (Ted’s Mum) who brought Ted for an overall 100 mile trip from Dorchester to Highcliffe to play for us. Also thanks to Graham for standing in for Christine and getting a draw and Krzyzstof for winning his game. We went down 2.5/1.5 by virtue of the default and it’s just one of those things.

Details of the match to follow.

On Friday night our A team play Southbourne A in a Divison 1 match and we are hoping we can return to winning ways which I am sure is only round the corner. Go for it guys!

So, this Thursday we do not have any league matches which is quite an unusual occasion so we encourage as many of our players to come down, get some practice, have some games and enjoy the social.

Xmas Party – final arrangements

The numbers are close to 20 now which is great but we need to arrange full payment and send in menu orders for the Xmas party to the Elstead Hotel by 1/12.

Thanks to those members that have already done this but for those that have not can I ask you to a do this without further delay so we can complete all for the Elstead.

Finally, I will advising on David Lockwood’s funeral details later this week or in the early part of next week. I have been advised those that wish to attend are welcome.

Good luck to our A team on Friday and try to come to club this Thursday.
