Paul Trowbridge RIP
Sadly I have been informed by Paul’s sister Alison of his death.
This is the email I received:-
“…Paul passed away on Thursday 8th after a courageous battle with renal failure. I was with him throughout his last hours which I hope was comforting to him.
I am grateful for his membership with yourselves as I know he found it a valuable and supportive social atmosphere. His funeral will be held at Bournemouth Crematorium on Thurs 29th Dec at 2.15 and will be a very small and simple service. There is no expectation at all, above all at a tricky time of year, for anyone beyond family to attend but I wanted to let you know and of course there would be a warm welcome from us should anyone from the club want to join us.”
The following statement was released by the club:
“Paul Trowbridge was a valuable member of Poole Chess Club who will be sorely missed.
He had been a member for a decade but unfortunately passed away last week.
During his time at PCC he played countless games. As a key member of various teams and playing for numerous captains, he would make himself available wherever or whenever required and always give a good account of himself, making him a captain’s dream!
He will be remembered as a positive, happy gentleman who was cheerful to the last.
Rest in peace Paul, you will be missed.”
