Junior end of season competition at Bournemouth Library

To mark the end of the term/season we held a 6 round competition at the Library where 20 juniors competed.

It was fun, enthusiastic, some 60 games played to conclusion, and some great chess including a few end games.

All the juniors that took part were winners and were given attendance and performance certificates, winners were given medals.

It was so rewarding to see so many juniors playing and enjoying chess and bodes well for the future if they can maintain the interest and  be actively involved with chess.

All the parents were thanked for taking the time for bringing their children and supporting junior chess. Our helpers of Graham/Paul/Steve/Bryan and Dee had a round of applause for all their efforts and we advised the lessons would resume on the 7th September for the Autumn term.

The picture with the trophies and certificates were held by the showcase of the Junior trophy won by the Junior library team in April this year. The Central library are very pleased to host Junior chess and we thanked them for providing the facilities.

Photos of the day are posted under Junior chess.
