D L Div 3 game vs Southbourne this Friday 27/4 and Adios Oscar

We have an important DL Div 3 game this Friday which will be as tough as always when visiting Southbourne. At a crucial time in the league we are 1 point ahead of Wimborne C with 2 games left with the final game vs Dorchester D on the 10/5, good luck to the team of Dragi/Tarik/Richie and Adam.

On a different note we need to say ‘Adios’ to Oscar who is leaving Bournemouth this week. Oscar has been a main stay in our A First team  & Dorset League teams for 3 years. His  current grade of 192 reflects his level of chess and is known for playing exciting and enterprising chess. Only last Sunday he played Dr John Nunn in the Final round of the Event at the Imperial College in London and only lost in an end game. (game to be posted this week ). He has equalled top prize in the Dorset Rapid play at Ringwood for the last two years. His contribution to Poole and our success will not be forgotten.

I am  sure all our members would like to wish him well with all his ventures in Spain and I know he will always be welcome at the club if/when he returns.
