Club opening over Christmas

With the Christmas party taking place at the Elstead Hotel on Thursday 16th Dec, there will be no chess club at the North Road Social Club that night, but as the NRSC is open over Christmas, the chess club will be open on the following two weeks, 23rd and 30th Dec for anyone who desparate enough to get away from the festivities for an hour or two.

The B&DCL have issued this statement regarding safety regulations due to the rise in Covid infections:-

Following this week’s announcement from the UK Government of increased Covid restrictions which came into effect yesterday, adults, and all the juniors 11 years and over, will be required to wear a face covering (mask) in line with the latest announcement. Juniors under 11 years are not required to wear a mask but can do so if parents prefer. The latest rules and guidance can be found here:

These latest rules and guidance will apply to all future league matches until further notice.
