4 Matches were played in the Club Championship last Thursday and the 1st round is nearly completed.

LEAGUE MATCHES

A really good week for our club teams.

BD & CL 1st Division – A team beat New Milton 3.5/0.5

BD & CL 4th Division – D team beat Southbourne D 1.5/2,5

Dorset League Division 3 – B team drew with Wimborne C 2/2

This week there is  double header on Thursday night (10th) when both our B and C teams are in action. On Friday night in the Bacchus league our kids plus Steve are playing the Southbourne Seagulls. Good luck to all our players in these games.

DORSET RAPIDPLAY – Sunday 8/3 – Online event.

34 entrants with a time control of 15 minutes plus increments.

Mike Duggan came equal 2nd with a great score of 5.5/7, well done Mike.

Zander and Leo both scored a very credible score of 4/7 in the highest level of competition in our area. Well done both.

All 3 Poole players won cash prizes – great stuff.

Finally, it was great to see the club so full and buzzy last Thursday with the 2 league matches in the chess room and 4 matches going on downstairs in the bar. In addition other non members took the time and trouble to come in and watch and share and we had 2 visitors playing chess and having fun at the club.  Great to see all, sharing ideas and enjoying the atmosphere.
