A team go for the 1st Division at home tonight at the Legion

We welcome all  members and guests to the club tonight to watch which could be a title decider between our A team and Wimborne A team.

The league position is Wimborne have 10 points from 9 games, we have 11 points from 8 games. So a draw or better will secure the title, a defeat means we will have to beat the relegated but understated Wimborne B team at home on Wednesday night.

Wimborne A are coming in to the game on the back of a win in the Dorset League last Thursday to secure the title, so it will be tough tonight. However our team of Martin Machatek, Mike Duggan, David Fuller and Dragi (don’t offer me a draw) Popovic will give all to try and win.

Please come along to support the team and play some casual chess if you can.

On Thursday our E team who are in second place will try and win their final game of the season and push the teams around them to win their final games.

On Friday vs Southbourne C our C team play their final game of the season and a draw or win there will secure the 3rd Division title.

Also, on Friday our D team will play at Southbourne needing two wins to win the 4th Division title.

This is an exciting time for our club playing in all matches and we hope you can come along and enjoy the matches.
